IELTS stands International English Language Testing system and IELTS has been taken by test applicants since 1989. IELTS test is one of the most popular test in the world and it is widely used in Australia to access applicant’s English ability for various occasions.
IELTS test offers two versions of test. One is General Training version and second one is Academic versions. Academic IELTS test are often taken to enter universities and vocational education institutes in Australia. Sometimes dedicated skill assessment organisations request applicants to take Academic IELTS test as part of assessment criteria.
IETLS test has 4 parts of assessment (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking). All candidates take same listening and speaking test whether they choose Academic version or General version. However, writing and reading tests are different. In general Academic IELTS test is more difficult than General IELTS test.
IELTS test use 9 band score system to mark each component of test. The IELTS test result is called Test Report Form (TRF) and the result is valid for 2 years. IELTS test can be taken in approximately 500 locations world wide including Australia.
